Obituary of John A Felix

John A Felix, 84, of Beverly and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday at the Abbott Nursing Home in Lynn following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Doris (Lavoie) Felix with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Wojeick and Nora (Gajda) Felix. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1950. He has lived in Beverly for the past 12 years. John was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1956. John was employed for over 40 years with Means Chevrolet in Wenham in the auto body department and then was employed with the city of Peabody for 13 years as custodian before finally retiring 17 years ago. John was a member of the VFW Post 1011 in Peabody for many years and enjoyed fishing at Pleasant Pond in Wenham for many years as well. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Stephen Felix of Peabody and Michael Felix of Leominster, his sister, Grace Parker of Beverly, his four grandchildren, Amanda, Drew, Douglas, and Kailee and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:30 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by a funeral service at 7:30 PM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
