Obituary of Grace Ellen Ferry

Grace Ellen (Regan) Ferry, 93, of Peabody, died Sunday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the former wife of the late Joseph F Ferry. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Murphy) Regan. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1941. Grace was employed as a repair clerk at the former New England Telephone in Salem and Andover before retiring. Grace enjoyed reading and cooking, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sharing in all of their endeavors. She will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Rosewood Nursing Home for their passion and professional care they received during her time. They are truly grateful. Grace is survived by her five children, Linda Christine Overhiser of Peabody, Diane Marie Knight and her fiancé Rick of CO, Susan Ellen and her husband Leo Flynn of Marshfield, Joseph S. Ferry of CO, and Debra Alice and her husband Randy Smith of Pembroke, her sister, Frances Flynn of Malden, and her beloved grandchildren, Brooke, Taylor, Steven, Stuart, Anthony, Jennifer, Jaime, Rebecca, Leo, Eric, Jesse, and Travis and is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Bill Regan and Alice Lund and her grandson Jason. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
