Obituary of Edward E Morgan

Edward E Morgan, 94, of Peabody, died Wednesday morning at the Brentwood Nursing Home in Danvers, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Eleanor (Hewitt) Morgan with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage. He later married Ethel Shaw of Beverly with whom he shared over 21 years of marriage, where they enjoyed each other’s families and friends. Born in Lynn on April 18, 1923, he was the son of the late Claude and Mildred (Peterson) Morgan. He was raised and educated in Lynn and has spent a good part of his life in Peabody. Edward was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for his bravery in the Battle of the Bulge. Following his discharge from the military, Edward embarked on a 43-year career as a welder for General Electric in Lynn before retiring many years ago. Edward was also a handyman who enjoyed tinkering around his house and later would teach his son the same skills. Edward is survived by his son and daughter, Stephen E. Morgan and his wife Dawn, and Claudia Morgan Kimball and her husband Thomas, all of Peabody, his sister, Marilyn M. Morgan of Peabody, his three step children, Jonathan, Brad, and Sarah Shaw, his beloved six grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, and Kevin Morgan, Aaron Steeves, Julie Kimball Doyle and Rebecca Kimball Robinson, his 8 great grandchildren, Alex Robinson, Jillian and Brendan Steeves, Matthew, Brayden and Caden Morgan, and Morrigan and Connor Doyle. Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
