Obituary of Nardi G. Laurenzo
Nardi G. Laurenzo, 70 years, husband of Maatje (Floor) Laurenzo of Amesbury, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
Mr. Laurenzo was born on December 23, 1932 in Jakarta Indonesia son of the late Joseph and Hendrika (Zopfi) Laurenzo. He was raised and educated in Holland. In 1961 the members of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Peabody sponsored his immigration to the United States. He resided in Peabody prior to moving to Amesbury in 1998.
Mr. Laurenzo owned and operated the Anvil Metal Products Company in Peabody from 1964 until 1974. He was then employed as a planner at the General Electric Riverworks Building #43 in Lynn until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Mosaic Lodge AF & AM in Danvers, the North Shore Daylight Lodge AF & AM in Beverly and the
8 P.M. Association. He loved traveling with his family, fishing, gardening and his aviary.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 50 years of marriage he is survived by 3 daughters and their husbands, Estella L. and David Keefer of Cambridge, Soraya and Edward Croughwell and Carla and Patrick Foss all of Peabody; 2 brothers, Joseph Laurenzo of Haverhill and Victor Laurenzo of the Netherlands; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Sylvia Williams, Louise Meyers both of California and Estella and Stanley Vollenmuller of the Netherlands; 8 grandchildren, Allison, Amy, Abigail, Aleksandra, Aidan, Corey, Laura and Raven. He was also the brother of the late Irene Koning.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location 978.531.0398 followed by a service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2 - 6 p.m. The Mosaic Lodge AF & AM will conduct a Masonic service Sunday at 5 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
