Obituary of Julio Jimenez

Julio Jimenez PEABODY – Julio Jimenez, 72, beloved husband of Juana Ysaura Jimenez, died on Friday October 20, 2017 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital in Salem following an extended illness. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Eligo Jimenez and Maria Mercedes Cruz. He grew up in Santiago where he lived part of his life. He moved to the United States where he lived 51 years, first in New York City then over 20 years in the Peabody area. Mr. Jimenez enjoyed his retirement. Before retiring, he owned a series of Convenience Stores in New York. When he moved up to the North Shore, even though retired he worked with Salem Taxi as a driver. Julio enjoyed and was passionate about his devotion to his large family. He enjoyed playing Dominos and was quite good. He had a very charismatic, friendly personality, and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife Juana Ysaura Jimenez of Peabody; his daughter Aracelys Perez-Jimenez of Peabody; two sons Harold Jimenez and Julio Cesar Jimenez both of Peabody; four grandchildren, Keshia Umpierre, Ashley Umpierre, Dorian A. Perez and Hansel I. Perez; three great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Jose, Julio, Jose Raul, Cesar, Juan, William, Ligia, Lorenza, Aridia, Fior, and the late Adela. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahiill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
