Obituary of Michael Vincent Gambardella

Michael V. Gambardella Jr., 74, of Peabody died Thursday at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of Theresa (Elwood) Gambardella with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He was born in Arlington, MA on October 10, 1943, the son of the late Michael and Josephine (Nicoloro) Gambardella Sr. and had resided in Peabody for the past 45 years. Michael graduated from Wentworth Institute and received his Master’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University. Several years later, he received a Master’s degree in Education from Fitchburg State College. He had been an electronic engineer at I Robot in Bedford, Raytheon Co. of Andover and Siemens Corp in Danvers. Prior to his retirement three years ago, he was employed at Jacob Engineering of Lexington. . He also taught electronics and math at Everett Vocational High School for ten years. Michael had served in the U.S. Naval Air Reserves following the Korean War. He had a love of history and collected many historical documents and books. He also enjoyed antiques and gardening around his yard. He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Peabody, his twin sons, Matthew Gambardella of Beverly and Michael and his wife Hayley Gambardella of Swampscott, a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Anthony Caliendo of Arlington, MA, his nephews, Anthony and Robert Caliendo and a sister-in-law Kathleen Riordan of Beverly. A visitation will be held on Monday October 30, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, at 11:30 AM at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Peabody.
