Obituary of Frances W. (Whitmore) Cahill

Frances W. (Whitmore) Cahill, 90, of Middleton, wife of the late Joseph H. Cahill, died Friday May 12, 2006 at Salem Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Cahill was born July 28, 1915 in Bar Harbor Maine, daughter of the late Harold and Henrietta (Gilpatrick) Whitmore. She was raised in Bar Harbor, graduated from Bar Harbor High School class of 1932 and received an Associates Degree in 1937 as a medical secretary from Westbrook Junior College in Maine. She spent many years in Bar Harbor Maine where her fondest memories were. She moved to Middleton, MA where she resided for 28 years with her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Cahill was employed as a secretary at Bartlett Tree Experts in Cambridge for many years. Her entire life was devoted to her family and mostly to her loving grandchildren. She was an avid reader and as hobbies she enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. For many years she and her husband wintered in Florida. Mrs. Cahill is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Jane C. and Malcolm Weiner of Peabody, Patricia C. and Bruce Davidson of St. Mary’ s County, MD; a daughter-in-law, Donna Cahill of Middleton with whom she resided; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Kim Weiner of Waltham, Christopher Weiner of Peabody, Jeffrey and Renee Cahill of PA, Joseph Cahill and Jill Cahill both of Middleton, Kimberly Davidson of MD and Kristin Davidson of VA; a great granddaughter, Ashley Davidson of MD. Her son John J. Jack Cahill pre deceased her in 2004. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday May 23, 2006 at 11 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 22Boston St., Middleton MA. Her burial of ashes will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2006 at 3 p.m. in Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor, Maine. As per her request there will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers MA 01923.
