Obituary of Edna M. (Hebert) Gallant

Edna (Hebert) Gallant, 86, of Salem, died Thursday evening, November 9, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Lucien J. Gallant. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Edward and Caroline (Schickling) Hebert and had resided in Peabody and Salem most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and enjoyed going to Bingo and watching game shows on TV. She also liked playing cribbage and other card games. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Robin Gallant of Georgetown, three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Paul Moynihan of Salem, Denise and Dennis Mentus of Peabody and Linda and Dana Jackson of Salem, MA, her sisters, Doris Meaney of Newburyport, MA and Pat Sweeney of Salem, her cherished 15 grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Edward Gallant and the sister of the late Gertrude Clement and Jean Allard. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill- Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 11:30 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church Rt. 114 Peabody/Salem line at 12:30 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
