Obituary of Warren Arthur Morse
Warren A. Morse, 87, of Peabody died Saturday morning at the Salem Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Virginia Marie (Buckley) Morse.
He was born in Lynn on Mary 22, 1918, the son of the late Frederick and Beatrice (Pereau) Morse and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He had resided in Peabody for the past 54 years.
He was a production planner at the General Electric Co. in Lynn for over 40 years prior to his retirement in 1980.
A veteran of WW 11, he served for three years with the US Navy.
After his retirement, he became very involved with the Peabody Golden Agers and served as President and attended the Torigian Senior Center daily. He loved the singing, playing cards and he performed in the variety shows for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Ann’ s Church in Peabody.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Morse and Laraine Cassidy both of Naples, Florida, 2 grandchildren, Michael Cassidy of Alpharetta, GA and Kathleen Cassidy of New Haven, Ct., and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William Morse and the brother of the late Winifred Gilmour.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody location followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, So. Peabody at 12:30 PM. Visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Peter Torigian Senior Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960 in his memory.
