Obituary of Gerard R. "Jerry" Allain
Gerard R. “Jerry” Allain, 75, of Peabody, died peacefully early Tuesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the devoted husband of Dianne (Ouellette) Allain. He was born in Salem, MA on August 6, 1942, the son of the late Gerard A. and Bertha (Allain) Allain and was raised and educated in New Bedford, MA. He has resided in Peabody for the past 55 years. Jerry had been an electrician and worked with the I.B.E.W Union Local 103 for 53 years prior to his retirement. Gerard also operated with his wife the Summit Variety Store on Summit St., Peabody for 12 years. He enjoyed working around his house and working in his garden. He was a member of the Breakfast Club that met of Fridays. He also enjoyed going fishing in both Salt and fresh waters on the North Shore. He is survived by his wife, Dianne of Peabody, his children and spouses, Michael and Julie Allain of Danvers, Randy and Stacie Allain of Peabody and Karen Moore of Beverly, his cherished seven grandchildren, Michael , Jacob, Kasey, Brandon, Justin and Katrina Allain and Nicholas Moore and many loving friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral Service will be held there on Friday at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
