Obituary of Evelyn (Lewis) Nabozny

Evelyn (Lewis) Nabozny, age 100, died peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Care One Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Nabozny. She was born in Peabody MA on April 22, 1917, the daughter of the late Manuel and Constance (Santos) Lewis and was raised in Peabody and later lived in the Gallows Hill section of Salem for 40 years before moving back to Peabody. Evelyn was a homemaker and care giver for many years. In keeping trim, she kept herself in shape by walking around the Salem Common. She enjoyed going down to the Salem Willows with her sisters and listening to the concerts. She also liked going out with with her husband and dancing the polka with him. She stated that a highball in one hand and a cigarette in the other that this was" the good old days.." She also liked to cook and sew clothes for her family and do gardening around her house. She celebrated her 100th birthday with her family last spring at Brightview in Danvers. The family would like to express their appreciation for the support and care given to them from all her caregivers at All Care Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Lynn, Brookdale Assistant Care in Danvers and at Care One Essex Park in Beverly. Evelyn had a great sense of humor and we will all miss her so very much. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Nabozny and his late wife Beverly, of Beverly, MA, and Crystal River, FL, and William L. Nabozny and his companion, Kathleen Stott of Peabody, her sister Mary Lewis of Salem, her cherished grandchildren, Patricia J. Ambrifi and her husband Gary; Steven J. and David F Nabozny;. Ashley A. Nabozni.-Varmette and her husband Michael and William E. Nabozny and his wife Laurie, a great granddaughter, Annamaria Nabozny, her former daughter-in-law, Kathy Nabozny, a niece Irene Murray and a nephew Brian Longeway. She was the sister of the late Manuel L., Frank and Billy Lewis, Julie Linehan, Constance Mello, and Ida Longeway A visitation will be held on Saturday , December 2, 2017 from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home followed by Services there 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to All-Care Hospice, 210 Market St., Lynn, MA 01901 in her memory.
