Obituary of Irving H Ellison
Irving H. Ellison, 83, of Peabody, died Saturday evening at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Florence (Dellamonica) Ellison.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Velma (Anderson) Ellison. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. After High School, he served with the United States Army during World War II. He was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific and American Theatre Campaign Ribbon as well as the Victory and Good Conduct Medal.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 38 years for Sears Roebuck and Company as a Division Manager for the Furniture Department. He was a member of the Veteran’ s of Foreign War, Post 1011 in Peabody, and he enjoyed playing cards and poker, and doing yard work.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Frances (Cronan) Ellison of Peabody; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and John Moor of Shutesbury; 5 grandchildren, Emilee, Peter, and Angela Ellison, Rebecca Gallant and Leland Moor; a great grandchild, Josephine Gallant; 2 cousins, Marilyn Caron of Peabody and Elizabeth McEwen of Michigan. He was the brother of the late Richard Ellison.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
