Obituary of Leroy "Lee" C Lee

Leroy C “Lee” Lee, 87, of Lynn, died peacefully Tuesday evening with his family by his side following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Edith Anne (Buchanan) Lee with whom he shared over 65 years of marriage. Lee valued family above all else, and nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time with Edith, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Stephanie Lee of Groveland, his four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Tom Fiory of Swampscott, Cheryl and Robert Caruso of Peabody, Karen and Robert Walker of Peabody, Lynda Lee and Ben Turcketta of Peabody; and his siblings Shirley Lee, Norman Lee and his wife Phyllis Lee, all of Michigan. He also is survived by his beloved 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Born in Wyandotte, MI, Lee was the son of the late Raymond and Celina (Freeman) Lee. He grew up and was educated in Southgate, MI, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and raised his family in Trenton, MI before moving to Lynn, where he lived for the past 36 years. Lee was employed as an electrician for Great Lakes Steel in Michigan before following his passion as a highly talented finish carpenter. He could often be found in his woodworking shop crafting beautiful furniture and cabinetry or helping friends and family with home improvement projects. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and spent many summer days teaching his children and grandchildren how to swim. A private family service was held on Monday with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
