Ross,
We are at a loss with your early departure dear friend. I met your father and mother in February 1990, before I met you. You have been a confidant and close dear friend for over 25 years & have too many fond memories; especially guiding Gregory & Elizabeth through our early days- clear like yesterday. You will be very much missed by all. Always with a smile for everything in life.

Skip and I were classmates in the class of '63 at Peabody High. I liked him then and I liked talking with him in downtown Salem were our offices were 3 blocks apart. May his memory be eternal.

I first met Skip back in 1977 as a junior in high school at his Record Exchange in downtown Salem. We used to discuss all things music and later fitness related topics since he & I were members of the former Nautilus Plus in Danvers. Skip was a "salt of the earth" type of guy that never pretended to be anything more than just Skip. I met many nice people at the Record Exchange and still shop & trade there to this day. Skip informed me on numerous occasions that his favorite song was You by The Aquatones from 1958. My deepest sympathies go out to Skip's family & extended family. I will truly miss his presence!

Very sad to hear this news. I met Skip this past summer @ the Samoset Resort during my family annual vacation & his last Colby College Reunion. I went to the resort pool early one morning to enjoy the view & a cup of coffee - and up walked Skip- to enjoy a few laps in the pool & soak in the hot tub. Boy- I enjoyed our long conversation about Peabody, all the new & wonderful eateries in Danvers, Tiger Woods's ongoing dismay, the upcoming Seinor PGA tour @ SCC, cycling on New Haven Island, his teaching there & of course - the Infamous Recond Exchange Store with its "Loyal Employess" who most likely worked there back in the late 1980's when I frequented there with my friends for the eras latest music entertainment like Bobby Brown. Skip smiled @ that. Nice smile- down to earth gentleman who you could tell instantly loved life - people - teaching - music - golfing - eating - and meeting new people & all types of conversations.. God Bless Skip- family & friends.

Both Ruth and I always enjoyed Ross's story telling about his adventures. Ruth and Ross enjoyed many of the same books. I loved sipping a scotch with Ross at the Salem Country Club bar on occasion. We will miss seeing him and Lorraine at this year's Egg Nog party.
Rest in Peace Ross, we miss you.

My son Joe and his girlfriend Veronica were fortunate to know Skip. After reading his obituary, I only wish I'd had even an hour to listen to some of his stories. What an incredible use of his life. Cheers.

For all my years at Salem Cuntry Club, Ross was a a guy who always smiled and said hello, but we never really knew each other well. Then, one day I filled in as a fourth with his golf group. Within three holes, I knew I had met an extraordinarily interesting and nice man, especially when he found out I knew all about the Whistlers at the Colby College Art Museum. He was thrilled when I told him a Monuments Man wrote my med school recommendation. I learned all about his marathon running and how he got into it after some health issues. Very nonchalantly told me about up coming surgery. That afternoon, I told my wife about this great guy and we decided we will spend a weekend at Colby.

All turned out to be bittersweet as this was the last round of golf Ross ever played. For me, it was the start of a beautiful albeit way too short friendship.

Go in Peace, my friend
