Obituary of Ruth (Grayton) Sippel

Ruth (Grayton) Sippel PEABODY – Ruth (Grayton) Sippel, 89, beloved wife of the late George Sippel, died peacefully at her home early Monday morning December 11, 2017, while in the comforting presence of her family. She was born in Peabody, daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Semenuk) Grayton, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She graduated from Peabody High School, and then graduated from the Wilfred Beauty Academy for Hairdressing. Mrs. Sippel had a passionate career of 46 years in the hair and beauty profession. She worked starting at Kay’s Beauty Shop, then with Andrew’s Beauty Shop, and then operated her own shop Gardener Park Beauty Salon. Ruth was a lifetime member at South Congregational Church in Peabody where she also was active in the choir among other social activities. She was a member of the Massachusetts Cosmetology Association. Her main passion was her family and her devoted faith. She is survived by a son and daughter, Richard Sippel and his wife Holly of Georgetown and Nadine Hickey of Peabody; five grandchildren, Tatiana Sippel, Dean Morgan Sippel, Abby Sippel, Nathaniel Sippel, and Zachary Sippel; two brothers Joseph & his wife Carol Grayton of FL and Robert & his wife Shirley Grayton of Danvers, and many extended family including sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by siblings Matthew Grayton, Dorothy Stover, Tynna Tkachuk, Amy Lazarakis, Florence Hibbard, and Pauline Grayton. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Thursday December 14, 2017 at 10 AM in the South Congregational Church, Prospect St. Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 – 8 in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
