Obituary of Simie Leony (Wilson) Turner

Simie Leony (Wilson) Turner, 81, of West Peabody, died on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Lahey Medical Center North in Peabody. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Turner who died in 2003. Simie was born on June 15, 1936 in Santa Isabel, Cuba the daughter of the late Jaime and Irys (Camohy) Wilson and had emigrated to Cambridge MA in 1956 and had resided in Peabody for the past 42 years. She had been an administrator at the Polaroid Corp at the Waltham facility for 35 years prior to her retirement. She had been a very active parishioner at the West Congregational Church and served on many committees there. She also loved taking cruises and visiting Europe and Hawaii, but her most precious time was spent with her family. She is survived by her son, Charles “Chuck” Turner and his companion Kerri Lally of Peabody, a brother Reggie Wilson and a sister Elena Wilson both of Cuba, two grandchildren, Kamron and Dalvin Turner of Peabody and many loving friends. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody facility. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at West Congregational Church, Johnson St., West Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
