Obituary of Doris M. (Morin) Smith

Doris M. (Morin) Smith PEABODY – Doris M. (Morin) Smith, 85, beloved wife of the late Leonard “Roy” Smith, died peacefully on Monday December 18, 2017 at the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Peabody while in the comforting presence of her family, following an extended illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Henderson) Morin. She grew up in Salem and graduated from St. James High School. Mrs. Smith worked for many years at the Jordan Marsh Department Store in Peabody, and was rumored she has the recipe for their blueberry muffins. Doris enjoyed Square Dancing with her husband, doing embroidery, reading books, and was a member of the Peabody Historical Society. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son and daughter, Donald Smith & his wife Bernadette Hayden Smith of Peabody and Kathi Taft & her husband Frank of Burlington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Taft, Victoria Taft, and Felicia Hayden, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
