Obituary of Ruth L. (Hart) Walters

Ruth L. (Hart) Walters, 73 years of Peabody died Monday morning at the Harborside Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers after a brief illness. Mrs. Walters was born January 16, 1930 in Greenville SC daughter of the late Luther Jackson and Edith Eldora (Fowler) Hart. She was raised and educated in Greenville and resided in Florida before moving to Peabody 48 years ago. Mrs. Walters was employed for 25 years as a housekeeper for several North Shore area doctors until her retirement in 1990. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Calvary Baptist Church in Peabody and very involved with their Sunday School program. She was also involved with the Mothers Club of Rainbow Girls in Peabody. Mrs. Walters 2 grandchildren were her pride and joy. She is survived by a daughter and her husband Myde C. and Richard Stocker of Peabody; a son, Jacky Walters A.K.A.Todd Reynolds of Greenville, SC; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald and Mary Hart of Greenville, SC and Calvin Hart of Charleston SC; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Ernest Milsap of Greenville SC; 2 grandchildren, Mariel and Adam Stocker of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Charles Hart. Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church, 4 Coolidge Rd., Peabody. Relatives and friends may pay their respects Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility 978.531.0472.
