Obituary of Carol A Scott

Carol A (Beals) Scott, 80, of Peabody, died peacefully on Thursday afternoon at the Pilgrim Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late James P. Scott. Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Hallett and Margaret (Maloon) Beals. She was raised in Arlington, MA and Lebanon, ME graduating from Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH in 1955. A longtime resident of Beverly where she raised her family, she has spent the last 31 years living in Peabody. Carol was an Home Health Aid for NASCAP in Peabody for over 16 years before retiring. While living in Beverly, she and her husband were members of the Palmers Cove Yacht Club. She will be dearly missed by all and was affectionately known to all her family, friends, and neighbors as “mother of the world.” She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Denise Scott of Groveland; her two daughters and son-in-law, Kathleen A Scott of Newton, NH and Judith and David Barry of Peabody; her sisters-in-law, Fusako Hara of San Francisco, Elizabeth Blake of Danvers and Norma Costa of Beverly; her beloved five grandchildren, Jessica, Kelcey, Erik, Natalie, and Jordyn, her three great grandchildren, Makenna, Teagan, and Calla and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James M. Beals. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 3 Margin St., Peabody, MA 01960.
