Obituary of Janice Rae (Regan) Spychalski
Spychalski, Janice R. (Regan), just shy of her 75th birthday, passed away peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC after a long and courageous battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was the kindest person who was always proper and impeccably dressed, and her home was always ready for a "Southern Living" photo shoot. She truly brightened our day. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren who brightened her day. Born January 20, 1943 in Lynn, MA to the late Richard and Claudia (Morgan) Regan, she graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1960. She married Chester Spychalski on November 9, 1963 in Lynn, MA. Over the years, she and Chester lived in a number of states with their family, eventually settling in Bermuda Run, NC. An avid fan of traveling, Jan was able to travel to see the world and to see her extended family. For over 30 years, Jan worked for Piedmont Airlines, USAirways and then American Airlines in Orlando, FL and Winston-Salem, NC. She was predeceased in 2016 by her beloved son, David. Jan is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Chester; her loving children, Laura (Matthew) Gurczynski and Derek (Amy) Spychalski; and beloved grandchildren, Madison (Ryan) Reyes; Sheridan, Griffin, Pearson, Peyton, Darden, Owen and Graeme Spychalski; and Matthew and Colton Gurczynski. She is survived as well by her brother, Robert (Susan) Regan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
