Obituary of Giuseppe A Zarro
Giuseppe A. Zarro, 81, of Peabody and formerly of Everett, died Sunday afternoon at Beverly Hospital with his loving family by his side following several years of illness. He was the devoted husband to Antonietta (Simeone) Zarro with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage. Born in Chianche, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Carolina (Polcari) Zarro. He was raised in Italy and finished high school in Belgium. He later lived in Canada and finally spent the last 60 years living in the United States. He spent 16 years in Everett and the last 43 years in Peabody. Giuseppe first worked in the Belgium Coal Mines for a couple of years and then moved to British Columbia, Canada where he worked as a lumber jack for eight years before he immigrated to the United States. While living in the United States, he was employed with General Electric for 25 years in the aircraft division as a welder in the Everett Plant. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and enjoyed swimming with his friends at the local pool. He was a true family man who enjoyed being with his family. However, his favorite endeavor was spending time with his grandchildren and sharing in all of their activities. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore G and MaryEllen Zarro of Peabody, his two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Ronald Higinbotham of Peabody and Antonietta and Paul Caputo of Billerica, his brother, Nazzareno Zarro of Everett and Teresa Toneguzzo of Canada, and is also survived by his beloved 7 grandchildren, Giuseppe, Salvatore, and Michael Zarro, Emilia Rose and Austin Higinbotham and Alyssa and Ashley Caputo and by several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial services will be held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to either American Kidney Society or American Heart Association.
