Obituary of Arminda Da Ajuda Vieira

Arminda Da Ajuda Vieira,73, of Peabody, passed away Tuesday evening at CareOne in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao A. Vieira, who passed away in 2012. Arminda was born on June 24, 1944 in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Jose Da Silva & Jesuina (Lima) Da Silva. She was raised and educated there prior to moving to the United States. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a packer at Fishery Products in Peabody. She was also a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Azorean Brotherhood of the Holy Ghost Society, both in Peabody. She also enjoyed cooking and baking a variety of meals/deserts in her spare time. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Fernando Silva of Peabody; her three loving grandchildren, Brianna, Katrina, and Nathan Silva, and a brother, Orlando Da Silva of Canada. She was predeceased by two siblings, Maria and Manuel Da Silva. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 25 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26 at 8:00 AM from the funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
