Obituary of Stephanie B. (Iwan) Pavenski

Stephanie B. (Iwan) Pavenski PEABODY Stephanie B. (Iwan) Pavenski, 86, beloved wife of Peter Pavenski, died on Friday evening at the Lawrence General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Daniel) Iwan. She was a lifelong resident of the city, and attended Peabody schools. She lived in Peabody for most of her life, and lived in Andover for the last three years to be close to her daughter. Besides her devotion to family and homemaker, Mrs. Pavenski worked for GTE Sylvania for a short time, and worked several years as a Supervisor at New England Sportswear in Peabody from where she retired nearly 20 years ago. She was an active communicant of St. Joseph’ s Church parish in Peabody where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society, Ladies of St. Joseph’ s, contributed by cooking food for the Polish Picnic each year and at Peabody International Festival, was a member of the St. Michael’ s Society in Peabody, and the Ladies Auxilliary of the Polish Legion of American Veterans (P.L.A.V.). She was a very loving grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed playing solitaire with cards, and was fortunate to travel many places including her homeland heritage of Poland. She is survived by: her husband, Peter Pavenski, of Peabody, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol & George Lentz of Andover; two grandchildren, Tricia Lentz of Peabody and George & Christine Lentz of Long Island, NY; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Mackenzie Lentz of NY; two aunts, Patricia Kowalski of Danvers and Paula Kulczyka of Poland; a niece, Paula Turcotte of Framingham; a dear cousin, Terry & Pat Splaine of Peabody; a sister-in-law, Matilda Iwan of Danvers, and dear friends living as family, Michael & his wife Carolyn Gallagher and their children, Michael, Allison, Julie, & Tara all of Topsfield. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Iwan. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, 1909 South Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60608-2994.
