Obituary of Jane T. (Tusinski) (Kotarski) Murphy
Jane T. (Tusinski) (Kotarski) Murphy PEABODY – Jane T. (Tusinski) (Kotarski) Murphy, 70, beloved wife of William Murphy, and the late Michael B. Kotarski, Sr., died peacefully Friday evening at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Cambridge, following an extended illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Ziolkowski) Tusinski. She grew up in Peabody, graduated from Peabody High School, and lived there for most of her life. She attended Marian Court Junior College in Swampscott, earning an associates degree in business administration. She recently lived in Concord. Mrs. Murphy worked as a secretary with Walbar Materials, at the Peabody House, and for several years in the Peabody Public School System. She loved flowers and was a member of the Peabody Garden Club. She was a talented cook – particularly baking and decorating cakes. Her most beloved role was that of raising her two sons. Jane loved life, and her family was her first passion. She was a constant presence at both of her sons’ baseball games and planned many vacations to Florida around their baseball schedules. She spent many years fishing and snowmobiling in New Hampshire with her sons and brother, and loved to travel to Quebec with her husband. She was the consummate entertainer and her family has many fond memories of holiday celebrations at her home. She is survived by her husband, William Murphy of Concord, MA; two sons, Michael B. Kotarski, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Oakton, VA and James A. Kotarski and his wife Meghan of Hudson, MA; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Logan and Sophie; three brothers, Stanley Tusinski of Peabody, MA, Carl Tusinski of San Diego, CA and Philip Tusinski of FL, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at 10 A.M. from the funeral home for a short prayer, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. Burial will be immediately following in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital’s Cancer Center.
