Obituary of Charles Thomas Boyd

Charles T. Boyd, 82, of Bradford and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at his home following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Glenice (Upton) Boyd with whom he shared over 44 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Charles T. Boyd Sr., and May (Saunders) Boyd. He was raised and educated in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School in 1938. At the age 16 he attended Villanova University and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Economics in 1944. He later attended night school and received his MBA from Northeastern University in Boston. He worked for forty years for the former Easter Gas and Fuel Company in Boston. He started as an accountant and when he retired from the company he was a system analyst. After his retirement, he worked an additional twenty years for NEATCO in Peabody. He enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and was a member of a mail order crossword puzzle club. He also enjoyed watching all of Boston’ s Professional Sports Teams, especially the Red Sox. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kathy Boyd of Georgetown, a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Paul Harty of North Andover, and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Catherine Boyd of Melrose. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NSCC, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960
