Obituary of John J. Agostino, Jr

John J. Agostino, Jr. died unexpectedly on Monday January 22, 2018 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after taking an ill turn at his home. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John J. Agostino, Sr. and Vita Pia (Trecarichi) Agostino. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. John trained working in electronics at General Electric in Lynn. Later he was the Owner/Operator of the Venice Café in Lynn before working in the bakery at Market Basket in Reading. He enjoyed fishing on the ocean and at a lake, coached softball in Lynn, and was a Black Belt in Karate. He played in the Drum & Bugle Corps while in high school. He is survived by two daughters, Tara and her husband Scott Cerullo of Kingston, NH and Alexendra Agostino of Cumberland, ME; two grandchildren, Niko Cerullo and Gianna Cerullo of NH; two brothers and two sisters, Carolyn McGlone of Peabody, Daniel Agostino of NH, and Marguerite Savageau of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday February 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home.
