Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Luigi Zannella
Antonio “Tony” Luigi Zannella, 66, of Peabody, died Friday evening with his family by his side at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Marina (Cieri) Zannella with whom he shared over forty-four years of marriage. Born in Fondi, Italy, he was the son of the late Luigi and Vincenza (DiGregorio) Zannella. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1969. He has lived in Peabody for the past 41 years. Tony was employed with Verizon for over 45 years in the Boston and Waltham offices. Tony enjoyed woodworking and baking. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his devoted wife and was the loving father of, Christopher and his wife Laura Zannella, Lisa and her husband Scott Pelrine, and Paula and her husband James Burke, all of Peabody. He was the loving nonno of his six grandchildren, Rocco and Anthony Zannella, Mia and Olivia Pelrine, and Thomas and Sofia Burke. He is also survived by his sister, Pasqualina and her husband Fiorenzo Pietrosanto, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Rosaria Pietrosanto. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Multiple Myeloma Research Fund Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
