Obituary of Emma Catherine (Colangelo) Acquaviva

Emma Catherine (Colangelo) Acquaviva, 94, of Peabody formerly of Malden, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Brudnick Center for the Living in Peabody. Mrs. Acquaviva was born in Malden on August 17, 1923 daughter of Louis and Annie (Demars) Colangelo. Raised and educated in Malden she moved to Peabody in 1994. Emma was employed in her youth as a sales clerk at Almys Department Store in Revere and at Conrad’s in Boston, then she devoted her life to creating a home for her family. She was a country music fan, enjoyed ballroom and jitterbug dancing and won many local contests, and was also a member of the Linden Improvement Association of Malden. Emma is survived by 2 sons and their spouses, Jay and Elizabeth Acquaviva of Carlisle; Glen and Paula Acquaviva of Peabody, her cherished grandchildren, Jared, Rachel, Jonathan and Lauren, Acquaviva; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Colangelo of Lynn; a brother-in-law, George Acquaviva of Revere, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her husband Chester, Eldest son Barry Acquaviva in 2015, and her siblings Francis, Ralph and Arthur Colangelo. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 7th from 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody which will be followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Her interment will be held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
