Obituary of Genevieve M. Walsh

Genevieve M. (Manning) Walsh, 93, of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at the Blueberry Hill Nursing Home in Beverly following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John H. Walsh. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Delia Manning. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1943. Genevieve was employed as a bookkeeper for many companies on the North Shore before retiring from the Deer Skin Trading Post in Danvers. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling with husband from Cape Cod to Ireland. She is survived by her loving two sons, Jeffrey and his wife Lynda Walsh of Beverly, and Michael and his wife Paula Walsh of Woburn, her daughter-in-law, Susan Walsh of Danvers, and by her beloved 6 grandchildren, Kayley and her wife Leah, Shawna, Brianna, Michael, Matthew and his wife Laura, and Patrick Walsh and by her two great grandchildren, Camden and Harper Walsh and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband she was predeceased by her two sons, David and James Walsh. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
