Obituary of Paul C. Twiss
Paul C. Twiss, 52 SALEM – Paul C. Twiss, 52, died unexpectedly at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital on Sunday February 11, 2018. Paul was born in Salem, and lived there before moving to Peabody where he graduated from Peabody High School in 1983. Paul was a trained machinist working on the North Shore for many years. As an Entrepreneur, he operated his business Same Day Services, contracting as a demolition and clean-up expert for 22 years. Paul had a very engaging personality known by many. He would easily befriend people either at work or any social situation. As a gifted mechanic, he would always be tinkering with a motorcycle or trucks, and invented a variety of gadgets for around his home. He was quick to share his inventions and his many “treasures” with his nephews and his niece. He was adventurous, and had a passion for travel to many exotic places with his friends, motorcycling, and exploring. Among other things he was generous with his time, and always willing to say hello or help people in his unique way. One of Paul’s many gifts was to bestow nicknames (wanted or unwanted) to anyone he knew and loved. If you were in Paul’s life – he had a nickname for you, as he was known with his nicknames such as Bubba and Jed. His legacy will live on in those nicknames, as each time we speak them or hear them we will remember Paul. He will be dearly missed by those whose paths crossed his own. He is survived by his parents, his mother Joan (Twiss) Cheney and his step-father George Cheney of Peabody and his father Bruce Twiss and his wife Eleanor Twiss of Ocala, FL; his fiancée Linda “Lucy” Poehler; his siblings Thomas and his wife Lisa Twiss of Peabody, Daniel Twiss of Salem and Michael Cheney and his girlfriend Danielle of Wakefield, NH, Cynthia Hart and her husband Bill Hart of Lynn, John Cheney and his wife Diane of Salisbury; Carrie Seymour of Wrentham and Laura Marshall-Smith and his “adopted daughter” Katie Swenbeck of Salem; his nephews Nate, Kyllian, Cullum, Addison and Keannor and his niece Mackenzie, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He also had “an ocean full of friends” Paul was predeceased by James Marshall formerly of Provincetown, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Sunday February 18, 2018 from 2 – 3:45 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, with a Funeral Service at 3:45 P.M. honoring his life, and a visitation will continue after the service until 5 P.M. with cremation to follow the ceremony.
