Obituary of Joseph J. Petillo

Joseph J. Petillo, 78 PEABODY – Joseph J. Petillo, 78, husband of Margaret (Di Eoreo) Petillo, died peacefully on Sunday February 18, 2018 at the Beverly Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Louis and Josephine (Bevalaqua) Petillo. He grew up there and graduated Revere High School before attending Bentley College. He served in the United States Army Reserves and the Massachusetts National Guard for several years. Mr. Petillo was an accomplished Pianist, trained in the classics and played jazz. He performed at numerous venues around the Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts area. He had a passion for music and piano, an entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoyed his independence in life. He is survived by his wife Margaret Petillo of Peabody; a daughter Christine Petillo of Salisbury, a sister Angela D’Allesandro of East Boston, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by siblings James Petillo, Tina Schettini, Anthony Petillo, Louis Petillo, and Rena Rossi. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Memorial Funeral Mass on Saturday February 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody.
