Obituary of Madeline "Maddy" B. (Morrill) Trudeau
Madeline B. “Maddy” (Morrill) Trudeau, 93 PEABODY – Madeline B. “Maddy” (Morrill) Trudeau, 93, beloved wife of the late Henry J. Trudeau, died peacefully on Friday February 23, 2018 at the Care One Rehabilitation Center in Peabody, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Brewer, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Floy (Young) Morrill. She grew up in Maine and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1943. She lived in Peabody for the last 66 years. Mrs. Trudeau had worked at a few credit bureaus in Salem and Lynn, and was a Teller with the Warren Five Cents Savings Bank, Lynn St., Peabody for nearly nine years before retiring. Maddy was a longtime member of the Broadway Methodist Church in Lynn, and was active in their Couples Club. Active in the Peabody community, she was a member of the Friends of West Branch Peabody Library where she also served as Treasurer and in their Book Club. She was very active as a leader in the Girl Scout Troop, and a member of the Peabody Historical Society. Her family is very grateful to the staff at Care One for their compassion and kindness in caring for Maddy in her last few months. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Paul Champigny of Peabody, two grandchildren David Champigny and his wife Maura of Acton and Wendy Champigny and her longtime companion Leo Fallon of Georgetown; three great-grandchildren, Michael Champigny, Julie Champigny, and Connor Champigny of Acton, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Dorothy Mullaly and Evelyn Streeter. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Monday February 26, 2018 from 4 – 6:30 P.M. with a Funeral Service at 6:30 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A private family Graveside Committal on Tuesday with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to either Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Park, Suite 3100, Woburn, MA 01801 or to the Care One Patients Activities Fund, 199 Andover St., Peabody, MA 01960.
