Obituary of William S. Drinon

William S. Drinon LYNN William S. Drinon, 87, beloved husband of Lois (Bishop) Carter Drinon, died Wednesday at the Wingate at Reading Skilled Nursing & Rehab facility in Reading following a long illness. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Sproul) Drinon. He lived in Swampscott in his youth, and graduated from Swampscott High School. He lived in Lynn for over 45 years, then moved to Wilmington, NC upon his retirement. He moved back to the Boston area where he lived for the last 6 years. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Drinon worked as a Machinist with General Electric in Lynn for 45 years of service. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and played Semi-Pro Baseball after high school He also enjoyed travel to many worldwide destinations. He is survived by: his wife, Lois (Bishop) (Carter) Drinon of Reading; his Step-children, Elaine Staunkos of Lynn, Christine Schweitzer of Avon, CT, Paul Carter of Port Angeles, WA; four step-grandchildren, Melissa Staunkos of Peabody, Amanda & Scott Bradley of Peabody, Terry Ann Couzo of Boston, and Timothy Couzzo of Avon, CT. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Davis. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to his Funeral Ceremony on Friday at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody. Urn burial will be private. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 or to the A.L.S. Association, Massachusetts Chapter - Wakefield office, 7 Lincoln Street, Wakefield, MA 01880.
