Obituary of Lewis Blaney

Lewis Blaney PEABODY – A longtime resident of Peabody, Lewis Blaney, Jr. passed away at his home on December 31, 2017. Lewis, affectionately known as Sonny by his siblings, was born in Malden. He was the son of the late Lewis and Grace (formerly Nelson) Blaney. He grew up in Lynn and was educated in the Lynn School System. He was employed by the General Electric Company in Lynn for over 30 years, working as a machinist where he made many friends who remained in touch during his retirement years. His passion for cars found him on many Sundays participating in drag racing in New Hampshire, and working on cars as a hobby when he was younger. He went on to become a collector of motorized cars and trains. He is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Audrey Blaney of Wakefield, Joyce Studley of Malden, James Blaney of Lynn, and John Blaney of New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Patricia Hamel. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Graveside Committal Service on Friday June 8, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
