Obituary of Louise (Paulino) Bento

Louise (Paulino) Bento, 93, of Peabody, died early Friday morning with her family by her side following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late George S. Bento. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mariana (Lobato) Paulino. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1943. If any Mother in the neighborhood could not find her child, all she had to do was look in Louise’s yard. She was an advocate for kids and animals. She was instrumental in establishing a playground for the children in her area and spent many hours, tirelessly, working toward the passage of the “No Kill Animal Shelter” law. She will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George M. and Kathy Bento of Ipswich, her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and John Lobao of Peabody, her brother, Anebal Paulino of Peabody, and is also survived by her five beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Mary Louise, George, and Elizzabethrose Bento, and her cat Sadie, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Blaine A. Bento and her siblings, Mary and her husband Joseph Mello, Leo and his wife Shirley Paulino, and her sister-in-law, Maria Rosa Paulino. Louise Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 12:00 PM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
