Obituary of Matthew T. Hames

Matthew T. Hames, 35, of Peabody, was called to rest in God’s peace on Monday. Matthew was the beloved son of the late Thomas W. Hames, Jr and Linda (Mitchell) Hames of Peabody. Born in Danvers, Matthew was raised in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School. His work experience included work as a machinist, a job he found both challenging and stimulating. He aspired to further his education in this field. Matthew found relaxation in reading, fishing and in the company of good friends, to whom he was affectionally known as Matty. Matthew had an engaging personality and was known for his determination, his warm smile, and his loyalty. He had a quick wit and most who met Matthew have a lasting memory of him that involves laughter. In addition to his mother, Matthew is survived by his sisters, Sarah Hames and her fiancé Charlie Derochemont of Peabody and Bethaney Galbreath and her husband Kevin Galbreath of Gilbert, Arizona. He was uncle to a niece and four nephews who held a very special place in Matthew's heart. He is also survived by aunts, an uncle and cousins. Those who have been the recipient of Matthew's love have been given a blessing beyond measure and he will live on in our hearts.
