Obituary of Petrina "Coca" Galiatsatos
Petrina (Cristea) Galiatsatos, 85, of Beverly, died Thursday morning at the Harborside Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late George Galiatsatos.
Born in Romania, she was the daughter of the late John and Hrista Cristea. She was raised and educated in Romania, later lived in Greece and has spent the last 48 years living in Beverly.
She was a housewife who enjoyed taking care of her family. She also enjoyed cooking, ironing, traveling and playing cards with her friends who affectionately called her Coca.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Margarita Galiatsatos of Salem, Paul Galiatsatos of Beverly and Omeros and Deborah Galiatsatos of Danvers, and a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Robert Michaud of Brentwood, NH. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in Romania. She was the mother of the late Perry Galli.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut Street, Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to either the Hospice of the North Shore, 10Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the American Diabetes Assoc., 1 Broomfield St., Boston, MA 02108.
