Obituary of James S. Travers

V James S. Travers passed away on Friday at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of the late June E. (Witham) Travers. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Annie (Thomas) Travers. He was raised and educated in Lynn, later lived in Peabody and has spent the last few years living on the North Shore. James was a plumber by trade and was employed by MIT Lincoln Laboratory. James took great pride in the care of his wife, June, during her lengthy illness. James is survived by his son, James S. Travers, his daughter Patricia and her partner Ed Kame’enui, his daughter Maryann and his son in law Jack Walsh, his two sisters, Margaret Piccola and Ann Travers, his brother in-in-law Paul Lundergan, and by his two nieces, Kathy Johansen, Nancy Lundergan, and his nephew Bob Piccola. He was predeceased by his sister Catherine Lundergan. His funeral will be celebrated on Monday at 12:00 noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will be Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake Street, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association of MA /NH Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 or www.alz.org/MANH.
