Obituary of David A. Perkins

David A. Perkins, 69, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Friday at his home. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Clarence and Rita P. (Connery) Perkins He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, class of 1968. He continued his education at Bryant Stratton and received his Associate’s Degree in Accounting in 1970. He was employed in the restaurant industry until 1986 and then embarked on a 30-year career as a postal carrier for the United States Post Office before retiring in 2011. David had an extensive coin collection and also enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially to coastal Maine. He was a great uncle, a beloved brother and great friend to all who knew him. David is survived by his two brothers and their wives, Richard and Cathy Perkins of Gloucester and Bruce and Cindy Perkins of Danvers, his two nephews, Rory and his wife Emily Perkins of Princeton, NJ, and Jeffrey Perkins of Salem and by his niece Jennifer Perkins of Gloucester. Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St, Downtown Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the family lot in St. Mary’s Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St, Danvers.
