Obituary of Howard Parker Woodlock, Jr.

Howard P. Woodlock Jr., 85, a former resident of Peabody, died late Saturday evening at the Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga., following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Madelyn (Thorner) Woodlock. Born in Brookline, he was the son of the late Howard P. & Christine (Deagle) Woodlock, Sr. He was raised in the Brookline area and after he married had lived in Lynn for a couple of years and later had spent over 35 years living in Peabody. He then moved to Florida and has spent the last couple of years living in Georgia. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the United States Army. He later attend Northeastern University in Boston and had worked for over 38 years as a engineer with the United States Army Core of Engineers before retiring in 1978. He also was a communicant of St. Adelaide’ s Church in Peabody. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Tina Woodlock of Jonesboro, Ga.; a daughter and a son-in-law, Sandra & Raymond Claise of Hudson, NH; 2 sisters, Marguerite Keough of Newton and Barbara Gildea of Watertown; a brother, Charles Woodlock of Newton; 2 grandchildren, Cheryl and Lauraine Claise, and several nieces and nephews. His service will be held on Wednesday @ 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
