Obituary of Anne "Honey" (Stathos) Tsapatsaris

Anne “Honey” (Stathos) Tsapatsaris, died peacefully at home on March 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Peabody on May 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Georgia (Zarakas) Stathos. She graduated from Peabody High School and worked as a secretary before marrying in 1948. Anne married her high school sweetheart William “Chappie” Tsapatsaris, who preceded her in death in 2016. Anne raised five children then returned to the workforce and spent 25 years at GTE Sylvania in Salem, where she became known as “mom” to her younger colleagues, before retiring in 1990. Anne was a lifelong member of the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church. She had been a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She traveled extensively with the group attending many conventions around the country. Anne also travelled to Greece on several occasions. She was an avid reader and loved puzzles and playing games on her iPad. She loved attending many social events and, most of all, loved her family. Anne is survived by four sons, Dean Tsapatsaris and his wife Diane (Marques) of Boston; Andrew Tsapatsaris and his husband Danny Gaddie of Hixson, Tennessee; Anthony Tsapatsaris and his wife Claire (Chenery) of Peabody; and Bill Tsapatsaris of Midlothian, Virginia; one daughter, Ellen (Tsapatsaris) Stark and her husband Stephen of Staten Island, NY; three grandsons, six granddaughters, 1 great-grandson and five nieces; a brother-in-law, Aris Marianos; and a sister-in-law, Eileen (Gill) Stathos. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Stella Stathos and Esther (Stathos) Crowell; one brother, James Stathos; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara (Lamb) Tsapatsaris. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 2nd from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody, which will be followed by her Funeral Service at 12 noon at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos Street, Peabody or to Care Dimensions, www.caredimensions.org in Danvers.
