Obituary of William Blaise Cosentino

B. William Cosentino READING – William “Bill” Blaise Cosentino, 81, formerly of Reading and Everett, died peacefully at Brooksby Village Continuing Care on March 28, 2018. He was the son of the late Madeline and Joseph Cosentino. Bill was joyfully married to his late wife of 47 years, Julie (Carroll) Cosentino, formerly of Reading and Swampscott. He was the loving father of daughter Carolyn and her husband Phillip Copelas of North Reading, son Joseph Cosentino and his wife Debbie of Walnut Creek, CA, and daughter Joyce and her husband Joseph Wells of North Reading. Bill was the cherished "Papa" to seven grandchildren: Courtney, Chloe, Jack, Kylie, Josie, Lucy, and Harrison, and the devoted "Uncle” to many nieces and nephews. Affectionately known as “Brother,” Bill is survived by his beloved sisters: Louise Rossetti of Middleton and Andrea Cavallaro of Swampscott, and the late Concetta Cataldo of Everett. He very much treasured time with his large, extended family, which includes many adored cousins and lifelong friends. Bill graduated from Everett High School in 1954 after which he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a Medical Assistant during the Korean War. After the Navy, he attended Northeastern University in Boston and graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1963. Bill was employed by Polaroid Corporation as an Engineer for nearly 30 years, working at their Cambridge, Norwood and Needham locations, retiring in 1996. In addition to his work and spending time with his family, Bill enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking and gardening. He loved to putter around the yard, watching the birds and caring for his flowers. Bill was most known for his warmth and humor. He was always able to lighten the mood by finding the humor in any situation, and he found much joy in being able to make people laugh, especially his grandchildren, who always loved their Papa’s jokes.
