Obituary of Irene M. (Beiras) Maio
Irene M (Beiras) Maio, 79, of Peabody and formerly of East Boston, died early Sunday Morning at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Louis a Maio with whom she shared over 59 years of marriage. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Pasqualina (Selvitella) Beiras. She was raised and educated in East Boston and has spent the last 45 years living in Peabody. Irene graduated with both a BA and Master’s degree from Leslie College and was employed as a Special Education Teacher for the city of Boston School System before retiring many years ago. Irene enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, also enjoyed gardening, dancing and listening to music as well. She is survived by her daughter Leanne and her husband John Gesnaldo of Peabody, her two sons, Frank Maio and his fiancé Dian Beshere of Danvers, and Joseph and his wife Cindy Maio of Londonderry, NH, he is also survived by her brother Joseph Beiras of CA and by her 8 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Stephen Beiras. Her funeral will be on Thursday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until; 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
