Obituary of Eulalia R. (Pombeiro) Aguiar
Eulalia R. (Pombeiro) Aguiar, 94, of Lynn, wife of the late Jose Sousa Aguiar, passed away in her home on Thursday, April 05, 2018 with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Aguiar was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, on February 12, 1924, daughter of Antonio Raposo Pombeiro and Maria da Trindade Raposo Menezes. Raised and educated in Ribeira Grande, she immigrated to the United States in 1976, making her home in Somerville where she resided before moving to Lynn in 1996. Mrs. Aguiar was employed from 1976 as a candy packer at NECCO in Cambridge until her retirement in 1993. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family and a caring grandmother who helped raise her youngest grandchildren, Alexandre, Ricardo, Katarina and Juliana. Traveling was one of her favorite pastimes and chocolate was her favorite treat. Mrs. Aguiar was very devoted to her faith and prayed daily. She is survived by her 6 children and their spouses, Luis and Venilde Aguiar of the Azores, Jose and Fernanda Aguiar of Cambridge, Gualter and Lucie Aguiar, and Goncalo and Fatima Aguiar all of Tewksbury, Clara and Eduardo Costa of Methuen, and Fernanda Aguiar-Pinto and Carlos Pinto of Lynn; a sister, Leonia Correia of Middleboro; 13 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also npredeceased by her siblings, Luiza Raposo Menezes and Jose Pedro R. Pombeiro. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 8th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday, April 9th at 8 a.m. followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody. Her burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, MA Chapter, www.parkinsons.org .
