Obituary of Catherine M. "Kitty" Lehane

Catherine M. “Kitty” Lehane, 95, of Peabody, passed away at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 with her loving family at her side. Catherine was born in Peabody on December 15, 1922, the daughter of Daniel F. Lehane Sr., and Rose Ann (Hogan) Lehane. Raised in Peabody she graduated in 1948 from St. John’s Girls High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. Catherine was employed as a secretary at the G.E. Riverworks in Lynn, a position she held for 40 years. Everyone will remember “Kitty” for her sense of humor when partaking at gatherings with family and friends. She was an avid Red Sox fan, also enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bingo, playing the lottery and she had a special love for animals, especially her kitties. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Brudnick Center for Living for the passionate care Catherine received. Catherine is survived by her 2 sisters, Eleanor M. Sullivan of Hamden CT, and Mary G. Thibodeau of Peabody; her numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, cousins, many friends, especially her good friend Eva Silva of Peabody, and her wonderful cat Molly. She was also predeceased by her brother Daniel F. “Bud” Lehane Jr. a niece Kathleen A. Smith, and a nephew Robert F. Thibodeau. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 18th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 20 Church St., Peabody, which will be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Her burial will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
