Obituary of Josephine (Konopnicki) Sironi

Josephine (Konopnicki) Sironi, 96 PEABODY – Josephine (Konopnicki) Sironi, 96, died unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on Thursday evening April 5, 2018 at the North Shore Medical Center. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Michaelina (Drabyck) Konopnicki. She grew up in the Gallows Hill area of Salem , and graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1941. She lived in Peabody for many years raising her family and was a happy resident of Mayor Torigian Center where she had many good friends. This past year she was a resident of Grosvenor Residences, Salem and she loved everyone who cared for her there, especially her beloved roommate Eleanor. Josephine enjoyed watching sports, especially the Patriots. She liked going to Bingo and traveling to Las Vegas with her sister Betty. She was an avid cook who loved sharing family recipes with relatives and friends. She was most passionate about her family, and very proud of her Ukranian and Polish heritage. She was a woman of deep faith and proudly prayed the Rosary every day. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by a son John and daughter-in-law Angela; four grandchildren, Suzanne, Andrew, Mark & his wife Shaine and Eric and his wife Diana; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son Joseph, and brothers Stanley, Joseph, Bronislaw and John and sisters Alice Gauthier, Ruth Pszenny White, and Brownislawa Varney. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Funeral Mass on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 10 AM in St. John Paul II Shrine of the Divine Mercy, Salem followed by urn burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
