Obituary of James G. Driver

James G. Driver, 77, of Peabody died Wednesday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Gertrude Amy (Perry) Driver. He was born and raised in Boston on March 30, 1926, the son of the late James G. and Susan M. (Generous) Driver and had resided in Peabody for the past 35 years. He had been a tug boat captain for the Boston TowBoat Co. in Boston Harbor for 35 years prior to his retirement 18 years ago. During WW 11, he served with the Merchant Marines in England and US waters. He enjoyed playing Golf and Loved playing the Organ and was a member of the No Shore Organ Club. He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, James D. and Jennifer Driver of Missoula, Montana and George A. and Louise Driver of Danvers, a daughter, Susan Marie Driver and her fiancé, James Tringale both of Sandown, NH; 3 grandchildren, Sydney Hale, James Mc Kinley and Nathan Fox Driver all of Montana; a neice, Jacqueline Nickerson of Ossipee,NH, a cousin Marjorie and her husband John Francis of San Dimas, Ca., and many extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the West Congregational Church, Johnson St., West Peabody. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends are Kindly invited.
