Obituary of Carol Ann (Lenderman) Splaine

Carol Ann (Lenderman) Splaine April 21, 1946 – May 5, 2018 PEABODY – Carol Ann (Lenderman) Splaine, 72, died peacefully at her home on Saturday May 5, 2018, while in the comforting presence of her family, following a brave, long effort to live with cancer. Born in Atmore, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Jack Jones Lenderman, and Mary Ellen (Drepanos) Stevens and her husband Frank R. Stevens. She lived in Peabody most of her life, and graduated from Peabody High School. She then attended Mansfield Beauty Academy, Salem, MA. She proudly received her GED in 1999 at the age of 53. Carol’s first hairdressing job was at Mario’s Salon in Peabody, also working at several hair salons over the years, and continued hairdressing her entire life. She worked at several local restaurants for the last 40 plus years as a hostess, coat check, and lottery attendant. Always having a smile on her face and a friendly attitude, Carol was affectionately known as “Keno Carol,” a nickname she embraced. Carol loved reading and crocheting, with many of the blankets being given to friends, family and those in need. She loved spending time at her vacation home in Hypoluxo, FL. She was also a longtime member at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. Carol is survived by her children, Charles R. Tyner, IV, Darnyl E. (Tyner) Ballard and her husband Timothy J. Ballard, and Jonathan M. Splaine; her brother Mark G. Stevens; her grand-dogs Jade, Diamond, Diesel, and the late Gunner and Harley. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Saturday May 12, 2018 from 9 – 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody.
