Obituary of Sergio Hugo Palomo

Sergio Hugo Palomo 78, of Lynn, husband of the late Hortensia (Berrios) Palomo, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington with his loving family at his side. Sergio was born in Santiago Chile on July 23, 1939, son of the late Juan and Ana (Contreras) Palomo. Raised and educated in Santiago, he immigrated to the United States in 1972 making his home in Lynn. He was employed most of life in the food industry and prior to his retirement he worked as an assistant at Market Basket in Danvers. He enjoyed being with family and being surrounded by his nieces, nephews and their families. Sergio is survived by his brother, Fernando Palomo of Peabody; his nieces and nephews and their spouses, Roxana Palomo and Patricio Alvel of NJ, Daniel Palomo of Peabody, Andre and Heather Palomo of Tewksbury, Veronica and John Gianferri, and Jeff Palomo all of NH, James Palomo and Rene Palomo both of Beverly, John Palomo of Amesbury; his longtime companion Julia LaBelle of Salem, and many grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews. He was also predeceased by Rebeca Palomo, Ernestina Palomo and Rene Palomo. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 14th from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. The burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
