Obituary of Nelson M. Brown

Nelson M. Brown, 70, husband of Ruth E. (Tenney) Brown of Peabody, died Saturday June 3, 2006 at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Brown was born August 28, 1935 in Malden son of the late Martin and Gladys (Neilson) Brown. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School class of 1953 and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Brown was employed for 40 years as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. Union Local 103 in Boston retiring in 1996. Following his retirement he remained active with the Union and recently received his 50 years pin. He enjoyed spending time in the summer at his camp in Maine, fishing, working on his computer, going to Foxwoods, cruising in the Caribbean Islands and doing crossword puzzles. As a perfectionist, he will also be remembered as a handyman and jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed especially redoing kitchens as a remodeling project. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth N. and Julie Brown, and Jeff S. Brown all of Hancock NH; 5 daughters and 4 sons-in-law, Cheryl L. and David Neth of Londonderry NH, Wendy E. Spoto, Heidy A. and Brian Connolly all of Peabody, Judie E. and Donald Walker, Holly B. and Kevin Walker all of Seabrook NH; 15 grandchildren, Matt Zaleskas, Chris, Jason & Joshua Brown, Megan & Jenna Neth, Charlie & Samantha Spoto, Hayle, Joseph, Dylan & Ryan Walker, Brandon, Ariana & Olivia Connolly; 3 great grandchildren, Alexus, Kaia & Evan; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. His brother Thomas Brown predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody new location. Relatives and friends are respectfully in invited. Visiting hours Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
